Burger Bite Challenge: The Counter

My lunch at The Counter yesterday was really good. I had a custom-made burger that had tomato, pickle, patty, bun, mayonaise, provolone, and yellow mustard.
The one thing that I didn't appreciate was that there were chives on the corner of the plate AND the toppings were on the bottom. Besides that I loved the burger. As for the french fries, they were 100% greatness. They had some spices which was good. The service was quick and good.

Rating:
Burger: 7/10
Fries: 9/10
Service: 5/10
Appearance: 5/10
Overall score: 26 pts.

Indian Food Lunch!

Though I had a boring banana bread breakfast, I had an exciting lunch in Berkeley, California. I ate Indian street food at Viks Chaat Corner.
I ate:

Mango Lassi,
Aloo Tikki
Pushcarts with large taavas have these potato patties lined up in a circle ready to be served with cholle and chutneys. The crisp skin hides the soft interior,

Masala Dosa,

The Dosa pushcart would set up everyday at 4pm around the corner from Amitabh Bachan’s bungalow in Mumbai. The Dosa Wala would always put the first dosa made at the foot of Ganeshji's altar. He would roll out these savory crepes with filling, on a taava, and serve them with sambar and chutney. Masala is potato filling,
And The Chicken Curry Special
Which is pretty self explanatory.

Visit the Viks website at vikschaatcorner.com

Then for desert I went to Yogurt Land frozen yogurt.

Holidays and Hamburgers!

I hope you guys had a very merry Christmas and a happy sixth night of Hanukah!

Now on to the burger bit.

There are currently four burger spots in my town. They are: Pearls Phat Burger, Super Duper Burgers, The Counter, and In'N'Out Burger. I am going to eat at all of them to see which is the best. I will eat a plain hamburger (patty, bun, lettuce, tomato, cheese, mustard), a milkshake, and french fries from each joint. I will, of course, blog about each one describing how it is and you will have a say in which one sounds best! If you have one of these in your town, review it in the comments. I will announce the winner soon after I finish with each restaurant. I call this

Your eyes are alright!

Your eyes are not deceiving you:

These are blue jellyfish,

These are green jellyfish,

These are red jellyfish,

This is an orange jellyfish,

These are pink jellyfish,

These are upside-down jellyfish,

This coral does have glow-in-the-dark tips,

This is a glow-in-the-dark sea
anemone,

This is the Gieco Gecko,

Today is Ghirardelli day at the California Academy of Sciences,

You know it's Winter... (pt. 2)

You know it's Winter when...

There are donkeys dressed as reindeer at a farmers market,
You still have a pumpkin that you bought in October to scare off deer,
The ducks are creeping you out by showing you their backsides,
And you feel like you are this polar bear when you wake up in the morning because you are afraid of global warming.

You know it's winter...

You know it's Winter when...

You have sparkly Christmas trees and a Menorah next to each other,
Starbucks has released it's red cups,
You have a tilted Christmas tree,
You can eat latkes at a local farmers market,
You can also eat peppermint Oreos at the local farmers market,
There are chickens at the farmers market,
While at the same time you can eat chicken soup with real chicken fat,
they are selling live fish, lobsters, and crabs at the farmers market,
And you change your chat icon to an apple because you are hoping for apple pie for the holidays!

Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah and Good Kwanzaa to my readers!!!!

dim sum and the symphony

My yearly dose of culture has come and gone. On wednesday night I saw the Boston Symphony Orchestra perform at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco. It was wonderful. During intermission I ate New York Cheddar flavored Kettle Chips and some curry cashews.
And now for the Dim Sum. Last night I got take out from a local restaurant. I had Shrimp Gow, Crescent Mushroom Dumplings, BBQ Pork Buns, Harmony Spring Rolls, Peking Duck, and Classic Shu Mai. The food was all gone before I could take a picture. Here is a link to their website: http://www.harmonyrestaurantgroup.com/
Finally, my weekly Whole Foods shop and eat lunch was yesterday. I had an Old Mill Park sandwich. It has ham, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayonaise. Here is a link to their website: http://wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/blithedale/

i had brunch at a little restaurant named The Dipsea Cafe. I had The Dipsea Special. It consists of bacon, sausage, home fries, two pancakes, and eggs. I liked it but the pancakes were a little dense.
